  i used to post here...a lot!.

  just thought i'd say hello to you all...you wonderful people who got out of the jw cult!

  i have come to believe that we are an amazing bunch of people - we made our way despite all the odds and fought for individuality - and won.. even today i was told that going back to the hall would solve my problems (by a jw family member) and i honestly can say that i felt amusement.

  Howdy Sirona! Congrats on your daughter. Enjoy them while they're young. I know it's a cliche, but mine are now teenagers and it happens so fast. Takes lots of pictures and videos so you'll remember.

  Not too many folks from the old days. Nina doesn't post any longer. I was out of pocket during the Trevor fiasco. Latest troll news is a 1-3 folks who post as JW apologists. Same deal. Attention whores and of course it works.

  I didn't know you were in the U.S. I thought you were still in Britain? Well at least we got rid of Bush and we did that just for you.

  Since he was a pitcher, no he would not have worn a helmet. Just a ballcap.

  In this particular case, if one feels the need to "punish" anyone it would be the batter, not the company who manufactures the bat. In my poor opinion this is a tragic accident. They do happen without anyone necessarily being at fault. That does not minimize the poor parents' pain and suffering however.

  Your issue is a disagreement with the jurors who awarded these damages, it seems to me.

  Amongst litigation attorneys the old saying is "go for the deep pockets". Not who is genuinely at fault in a given situation, but who can pay out the most money.

  Personal injury cases are, by definition, those whereby the plaintiff has suffered a loss. The trick is to get the jury to feel that loss and want to punish someone.

  Ideally tort reform would be based on reforming a system that requires those with the deepest pockets to pay for a loss rather than discovering if there is a real defect, incompetence, negligence and so on that directly caused the loss. The system now has evolved into getting folks to think that they are entitled to money, even profit, from a loss or injury. Ideal reform would correct that sense of entitlement.

  But of course that won't happen. In real life "tort reform" is code used by insurance companies who seek to limit monetary damages that they have to pay out for the insured person or company.

  So really any talk of "reform" is rather pointless.

  Is it worth upgrading from Windows Vista to Windows 7?

  i'm running vista home premium on my dell inspiron.

  dell custom build to your requirements and i went for 4gb of ram from the start (almost 2 years ago).

  i know vista has been much maligned but honestly, i've had no problems with it.

  Vista itself was ok, there really wasn't anything wrong with it stability-wise. If it is working fine for you, don't worry about upgrading. If someone is having stability issues with Windows, it is almost ALWAYS due to a buggy driver or bad hardware. This has been the case for a long time.

  Having the Device Manger automatically fix devices that aren't working at all is slick

  Now that would be cool.

  Does Windows 7 let you save to the C: drive? I too haven't had any trouble with Vista, although XP is a much better OS in my opinion. I've been curious about 7 as well.

  i recall some time ago reading a book (i forgot the title) that stated that there was an early church tradition about jesus being deformed.

  one source described him as being 3 cubits tall-41/2 feet (males at that time and region were on average 5'4"), hunchbacked, long face with a unibrow that made him look terrifying when he looked at you.. i was wondering if any of our scholars, leolaia or narkissos are familiar with this issue and perhaps enlighten us with some references.. villabolo.

  You know Irrev, I honestly could see you do this. You've got the persona and the style to do it. The thing is, from what little I've heard and read, this sort of thing takes years and years to hone to the right degree. Just sayin', I think you could be a good observational stand up.

  well, not just angel eyes but also for those like her.

  i genuinely had no issue with her, and it seemed she was starting to realise just what the watchtower was, but backed out due to fear of the unknown.

  'tis sad, she almost got her life back!.

  Ren/AE wasn't real. It was just the creation of someone wanting to whitewash the WTs filthy grave.

  Whitewashing had nothing to do with it. That account was one of several that pretends to be someone who they are not. I don't really get how the thrill of pretending to be someone different in cyber land is so titilating, but then I don't think marijuana is that great either. So what the hell do I know, right?

  No the people behind these accounts obviously get a big thrill, so they'll be back under a different name. The ideal solution is don't give them attention.

  Anxious? No. I'm not searching any longer. And not really confused. I'm old enough I've learned enough, been through enough, that I'm beginning to understand. I don't like it. It's not fair and I'm seriously pissed off about it all, but The Powers The Be don't really give a shit. But I'm a piss ant nobody so who cares, right?

  So these two guys are walking and they come across a this dog that's licking himself. First guy says, "Hey wouldn't it be great if we could do that?"
